Yu-Gi-Oh! 2026: Burst Protocol and Spirit Charmers Arrive at Chaos Cards

As we move into the New Year, the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game (or TCG) is starting 2026 with a rather fancy display of power. From the high-octane fireworks of Burst Protocol to the enchanting lore of the Spirit Charmers, there is something for every kind of Duelist to get excited about this month.

So, whether you’re a fan of the anime or a competitive player looking for the next big Link Monster, here is everything you need to know about these upcoming releases.

Burst Protocol and New Strategies

Burst Protocol is the third core booster set of the 13th Yu-Gi-Oh! Series, and follows on from the popular Doom of Dimension release. This set is all about explosive speed and tactical power, and draws heavy inspiration from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains anime.

Burst Protocol is a release where anime inspiration meets competitive power. The highlight for many players will be the new support for the Rokket and Borrel themes. Directly inspired by the character Varis (Revolver), these cards allow you to utilize powerful Link Monsters to dictate the flow of the duel.

One of the most exciting additions is a brand-new Link-5 "Borrel” Monster. This gives Duelists a second high-level option to run alongside the legendary Borrelend Dragon. If you play your cards right, you might even manage to Summon both together for a near-unstoppable game!

Burst Protocol is composed of 100 base cards, with a breakdown that offers plenty of opportunities for high-rarity pulls:

The Chronicles Deck: Spirit Charmers (All-Foil Edition)

Running alongside the booster releases from December through March is the epic fairy tale adventure of the Spirit Charmers. To celebrate their story, we are seeing the release of a very special "All-Foil" Chronicles Deck.

This isn't your average Structure Deck. The Chronicles Deck: Spirit Charmers is designed to make players feel like part of the animated shorts, and features the characters, locations, and pivotal moments from the journey.

Key Features of the Spirit Charmers Deck:

51 Cards in Total: Every single card is foiled, it is so pretty and surely a dream deck for many Yu-Gi-Oh! collectors.
Exclusive Content: Includes 2 brand-new cards and 4 variant art versions of classic cards.
