This Summers Must Have Lego Sets for Adults (part 1)

The Summer holidays isn't just for kids! In fact right now there are plenty of Lego sets coming out which are designed specifically for adults. So many in fact, that we've had to split this post in two!

In part one of this exciting post we will be looking at the larger sets coming out in August that will appeal to the older Lego Builders out there. These sets are just perfect for those moments when you need to unwind, challenge your mind or immerse yourself in a complete building experience. Perfect for when its too hot (or raining too much!)

But car enthusiasts can get ready for a special treat in part two, where we'll be exploring the Lego Technic Lamborghini Revuelto Super Sports Car, the Lego Technic Ford Bronco SUV and Lego Ferrari FXX K Race Car. So don’t forget to check that out after reading here!

Lego Technic Volvo EC500 Hybrid Excavator (42215)

Lego excavator

Are you up for a challenge?! If so the Volvo Ec500 Hybrid Excavator could be right up your street. Coming in at 2359 pieces, and a recommended age of 18+, this is definitely not a set for the faint hearted. Needless to say, we can’t wait to get building! There are plenty of features to explore with this heavy duty vehicle; it even includes interchangeable excavator tools such as a hammer and shovel tool. The model includes a motor and gearbox so you can move the various features and there are even four different functions to control the boom and arm. Just make sure you have plenty of space to display this impressive model!

Lego Technic Lunar Outpost™ Moon Rover Space Vehicle (42211)

Lego rover

The Lego Technic Lunar Outpost Moon Rover Space Vehicle is a STEM inspired set inspired by the real life Lunar Outpost vehicles (STEM meaning Science, Technology, English and Maths.) The Lego Space set is made up of 1082 pieces and is suitable for ages 10+ (it would be a lovely set to build together with your kids if you wanted to share the fun!) The Lunar Outpost set includes the Moon rover, Mining rover and the MAPP rover. It’s a nice introduction to engineering being part of the Lego Technic range, and features realistic movements and mechanisms; for example there is a rotating arm so you can lift the smaller mining rover. We were really impressed with the attention to detail in this set

Lego Fortnite Mecha Team Leader (77078)

Lego mecHA

Bring the Fortnite gaming adventure into the real world and create a collectible gaming figure with the Lego Fortnite Mecha Team Leader. Lego Fortnite fans will recognise the Mecha Team Leader as the iconic robot who saves the Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 1 island. It is a beast, coming in at just over 45cm tall! There are so many details to find in this 2503 piece set, including the Sword of Singularity accessory and a Mecha Team Leader Mini figure. We particularly like how you can pose the Mecha Team Leader with it’s posable hips, arms, feet and head.

Unlock new levels of creativity with the collection of LEGO Fortnite sets (you can check out our thoughts on the other sets here.) The Mecha Team Leader even comes with 2 outfits you can redeem in both the Lego Fortnite and Fortnite games.

Personally, we can't wait to start building the Lego Hybrid Excavator – it looks incredibly fun to build and display!
