Dice, Decks and Degrees; Welcome to Chaos on Campus
Written by K. Lambert - May 16 2025

Something fun and exciting is brewing at Universities across the United Kingdom....Chaos on Campus - an exciting new initiative from Chaos Cards and Asmodee. Read on to find out more about our exciting new venture!
Chaos Cards are passionate about making Tabletop Gaming as accessible to as many people as possible- that's what keeps our prices low and our range wide! We invest in Kickstarters, we donate to and support lots of clubs and organisations, and we welcome collaborations wherever possible. So after we worked with a University society in 2024, we thought how it would great it would be to be able to offer something to all the Universities in the UK.
After a call to our friends at Asmodee we worked out a way we could help together- and Chaos on Campus was born. All University tabletop gaming societies in the UK would be invited to apply to win a free bundle of top Asmodee UK games, each worth over £200- and there would be 50 bundles up for grabs!
More than just Games
The Chaos Cards team love supporting those who are passionate about tabletop gaming. Based in Folkestone, Kent, we have the Chaos Cards Tabletop Gaming store which runs many different gaming sessions across the week, as well as community events such as our ever popular Pokemon Craft workshops. We had fun with our annual Pokemon Day events and ‘Christmas in the Shire’ Lord of the Rings inspired party too!
Community is central to a lot of what the team do behind the scenes, and Chaos on Campus felt a great way to develop these ideas. Liz, our General Manager, and Asmodee have been working really hard behind the scenes to get the project up and running. Now, the amazing warehouse team are busy mailing out all of the bundles to the lucky winners!
Level Up Uni Life
“We know how tough it is to finance a board game hobby when you’re also prioritising your studies. That’s why we wanted to give societies a boost to their collections and make gaming more accessible on campus. Tabletop games are such a fantastic way to meet new friends, bond over challenges, and simply have fun. What’s not to love?” Liz Flynn
Chaos Cards were simply looking for passionate groups who would benefit from a boost of board games – and we had over 75 Societies from across the UK apply!
The Quest Starts here

Manchester Metropolitan University with their games
Societies will receive a carefully curated bundle of board games worth up to £200 which will feature board games such as Azul, Mansions of Madness and Marvel Champions. The selection of games has been created to be perfect for eager gamers, whether students are absolute beginners or more seasoned players. There will be differing levels of complexity available within the games to attract a range of students.
“It’s just a great way to kind of get a society up and running...of course, students don’t have lots of money. So this is another great way of just making sure that they’ve got a really good selection of games that they can use.”
Why we want to support Tabletop Gaming Societies
Community - Board Games are a great way to bring students together and create new friendships.
Support - Chaos on Campus is here to support students love of Tabletop Gaming. It would be great to keep in contact with the Universities taking part as well!
Relationships -The Chaos Cards team are excited to develop great relationships with the universities that have applied and hopefully get to evolve these relationships over time!
Education - Board Games are a great way to develop problem solving skills and strategic thinking.
Inspire - Sharing a selection of beloved games with new and seasoned players is a great way to build up the society and attract new members. Hopefully Chaos on Campus might inspire a new generation of Board Game Designers too!
Affordable - In offering these Board Game bundles in association with Asmodee, Chaos on Campus hopes to make Tabletop Gaming affordable for students to take part in, no matter what their income.
Accessible - At the heart of Chaos on Campus, one of its biggest aims is to make tabletop gaming as accessible as possible. We hope this project will be the first of many that will allow us to make the hobby as accessible as possible!
Chaos at University and Beyond
Hopefully Chaos on Campus is just the beginning, the Chaos Cards team and Liz in particular think there's more then enough scope for the scheme to continue and evolve if it proves to be popular. Do you have any suggestions on how Chaos on Campus could evolve going forward? Do you have a list of games that you think are a MUST HAVE for students? Do let us know over on our socials! It would be great to hear your thoughts on this project.
