Magic the Gathering Players, Assemble

The Marvel Universe has arrived in Magic: The Gathering in full force! And at Chaos Cards, we love it when worlds collide, so we couldn’t wait to check out the new Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes release and discover what's in store for us.

In the past, Magic: The Gathering has been a game firmly rooted in epic, fantasy. It has enthralled players for decades with it’s intricate world building, deep lore and strategic gameplay. In recent years however, releases such as Universes Beyond has allowed us to explore Magic gameplay in different worlds, and bought in characters and realms from outside the initial Magic the Gathering universe.

We’ve already visited the high fantasy of Middle-earth and the grim, dark futures of Warhammer 40,000, now, get ready for Magic’s latest heroic crossover, where iconic comic book action comes to life on the battlefield.

Meet Earths Mightiest Heroes (and Villains)

It's time to soar, strike, and smash your way to victory in Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes! Where the fate of the world as we know it hangs in the balance between the heroes and villains. This new release lets you build your dream team, kit them out with legendary gear, and release their unique abilities.

We already had plenty of fun with the Spiderman Universes Beyond release last year (which just so happened to be the first Universes Beyond set to be classed as Standard Legal) We definitely can’t wait to add even more iconic comic book characters to our decks!

Each play booster contains a non foil, double sided token with full sided art, as well as

  • 7 Commons

  • 3 Uncommons

  • 1 Rare or Mythic Rare

  • 1 Wildcard of any rarity

  • 1 Traditional Foil card of any rarity

  • 1 Non-foil or Traditional Foil Land card 

When you open these booster packs, prepare to see some cosmic foils, unique source material cards, and stunning showcase panel frames from this incredible crossover. This set lets you bring your favorite Marvel characters and defining comic moments straight to your deck.

Keep an eye out for the tokens, too, featuring everything from devious robot villains to Shawarma food tokens that look almost good enough to eat!

Choose your Commander

For those of you who like to play Commander, this Marvel release will definitely appeal to you. Each deck also has a Collectors Edition variant. The standard decks come with 10 non foil double sided foil tokens, whereas the Collectors Edition upgrades those tokens to Surge Foils.

For: Players who want to focus on particular Superhero.

Avengers Assemble

Captain America leads the charge alongside his fellow heroes, while Director Nick Fury coordinates the battlefield, calling on your hero cards to fight.

Wakanda Forever

Reign supreme as T’Challa, The Black Panther, who gains massive strength with each new artifact. Shuri utilises those same artifacts to lend you the raw power needed to close out the game.

Doom Prevails

If world domination is more your style, this villainous deck led by Doctor Doom himself features all the thievery, manipulation, and opportunistic scheming you need. The King of Latveria and Loki the Deceiver work together to claim victory over the heroes. And don’t forget, more villains mean more chaos!

The Fantastic Four

Get ready for Clobbering Time with the Fantastic Four Commander deck which relies heavily on teamwork. The Invisible Woman provides vital protection while Mister Fantastic masterminds the perfect competitive strategy.

Heroic Pick up and Play Products

Whether you are new to the world of Magic, a casual player or a seasoned professional, Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes has some great entry points to launch you straight into the action.

It looks like the biggest focus in this Marvel Superhero crossover is Teamwork. With some great mechanics that reward your deck working together. With the emphasis on teamwork in the new Lorcana release; Attack of the Vine, we can safely say that this Summer looks to be fileld with teamwork!
