“Choose a side, assemble your allies, and battle boldly in Pokémon: Scarlet and Violet – Destined Rivals.”
Pokémon: Journey Together isn’t even on the shelves yet, and Pokémon are spoiling us with even MORE news. On the 24th March 2025, The Pokemon Company International announced Scarlet and Violet – Destined Rivals was due to be released on the 30th May 2025. (Did you know that this would mark the shortest amount of time between an announcement and a release since Pokémon Go in 2022?) Yay!
The exciting new set looks set to be focused on the antics of our favourite villains; Team Rocket. We don’t know about you, but the Chaos Cards team can’t wait to see the cards included in this set! Read on the find out more.
Prepare for Trouble! And Make it Double!

It looks like Team Rocket are up to their old tricks. Will you side with the heroic trainers and join forces with Cynthia and Garchomp ex, Ethan and Ho-Oh ex or Arven and Mabosstiff ex? Or do you prefer the nefarious Team Rocket, with Giovanni commanding Mewtwo ex? Looks like Destined Rivals will have you covered.
The tenth release for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has over 240 cards planned for this release, including 85 Trainers Pokémon and over 45 Team Rocket Pokémon. So far, it looks like Destined Rivals will include:
17 Pokémon ex, including 10 Trainers Pokémon ex.

11 Special Illustration Rare Pokémon,
6 Hyper Rare, Gold-Etched cards.
Winning is for Winners

Scarlet and Violet Destined Rivals brings back the Trainers Pokémon dynamic, last seen in Pokémon Journey Together. Pokémon Trainers included in this set include N, Lillie, Hop, and Iono. The Chaos Cards team love the return of Trainers Pokémon as we really like the highlight of the bond between Trainers and their Pokémon .
So far, it looks like Destined Rivals is set to include;
The standard booster packs, (containing 10 cards, a code card and an energy card.)
Cute looking Checklane Blisters (including a booster pack, promo card, Pokemon coin and a code card.) Pokémon will include Eevee and Zarude,
Fun Premium Checklane Blisters (including a booster pack, 3 promo cards of a full evolution chain, a Pokémon coin and a code card.) The Pokémon evolutions include Fuecoco >Crocalor > Skeledirge, and Togepi > Togetic > Togekiss,
The Elite Trainer Box looks as awesome as ever. The Destined Rivals ETB contains 11 booster packs, a full art promo card with Wobuffet and the Pokémon centre logo, and another promo with just Wobuffet, 65 card sleeves, energy cards, players guide, dice, condition markers and a flip coin. It also all comes in a very cool looking Box with dividers which is perfect to store everything in.
Are you Ready for It?

If the 30th May seems to far away, it looks like the set will be able to be played digitally on Pokémon TCG Live from May 29th, 2025. And don’t forget, we quite often have prereleases and events on at our Tabletop Store Chaos Cards in Folkestone if you are ever about in Folkestone Kent.
