The added richness of demand for decision making turns a very, very good game into an excellent one, for players a casual level especially. The extra travellers, too, bring colour to the game. There are now too many for players to quickly get to know them all, so there's extra variety and unpredictability. Good quality materials, too.

Superb expansions which don't add a great deal of complexity to Tokaido but improve it by giving players more choices. Very well implemented by Stonemaier and the changes they made only improve an already excellent board game.
