A Legendary game but not as you know it. This is the first Legendary deck building game which is purely adversarial / competitive. Yes you can choose to play Predator, Alien, Matrix and even James Bond as adversarial or less co-operative but in Game of Thrones co-op is not an option. The other big difference is that the max number of players is 4 and not the more usual 5. Many terms will be familiar to those who okay other Legendary’s (and Encounters) like allies, wounds, masterminds, strikes, recruit, etc. but because of the adversarial theme where different houses compete, the mechanic changes slightly. The presentation is very impressive with individual player deck mats alongside the main mat (although the mats have some be confusing terminology - watch a YouTube play though to get this right). The card artwork is also first rate and is more inspired by the books than the TV show. Overall this is a first rate Legendary which won’t disappoint and I will play it lots more. However it hasn’t dislodged my fave Legendary’s from the top spot - Legendary Encounters Matrix and Legendary James Bond.

This is a different take on the Legendary deck building system. Usually you are playing cooperative but in this game you each have your own masterminds which your opponents can attack. Each have their own deck of characters and board. Play time is 2-3 hours and is quick to learn but has a deep complexity due to each player’s purchasing deck. I enjoyed the difference and expect an expansion of White Walkers to make truly cooperative.
