‘Spot’ your latest build this June with New Disney Lego Sets

June is a bumper month for Lego releases! You may have already ventured into the worlds of Fortnite and Harry Potter, but did you know there has been a nice assortment of Disney related sets released as well? We always look forward to a Disney related set, and there is plenty to get excited about this June – there is definitely something for Disney fans old and young. This wave of releases is full of nostalgia, charm and creative possibilities.

Read on for a round up of our favourite sets in this release!

Pixar Luxo Jr lead Junes Magical Line Up

Image002

The one set many of the team here at Chaos Cards have been excited for is the Lego Ideas Disney Pixar Luxo Jr (21357) Who doesn’t adore the iconic lamp featured in the first CGI animated film to be nominated for an award? One of the features that is much loved within the office is the buildable Pixar ball. The iconic ball opens up and reveals awesome little Easter Eggs that reference Pixars most beloved films. Up, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Monsters. Inc, Toy Story and Finding Nemo are all featured, can you spot them? We love that you can even pop Luxo Jr on the ball, just like in the 1986 short film. The adorable lamp is part of the Lego ideas range and the display model is aimed at a more adult builder then some of the previous Lego Disney sets. What makes this nostalgic set extra special, is that it is created by a fan designer and voted for by Lego fans. (There's even interviews with those involved within the build booklet)

Mischievous Fun with Angelic Addition to Lilo and Stitch

LEGO - Angel from Lilo & Stitch

Just in time to coincide with the new live action Lilo and Stitch film, there’s the cute Lego Disney Angel (43257) set which would be perfect to accompany Lego Stitch (43249) Angel has moving ears and an antennae, as well as butterflies and love hearts so master builders can fully personalise their build. We love that you can display or play with Angel. With 784 pieces, we would say that this Lego set is perfect for ages 9 years up or maybe as a nice project to build with the family. There are lots of cute details included in this Lego set which fans of the Lilo and Stitch TV show will love. Angel would look really cute displayed with the cute Lilo and Stitch Beach House we looked at in a previous post.

Spotty fun with Lego Dalmatians

For fans of the fluffy and adorable Disney characters, we think these two sets from the 101 Dalmatians animation would be perfect for you. The Lego Disney 101 Dalmatians Puppy (43269) is aimed at adult fans of the films, whilst Lego Disney Lucky and Penny 101 Dalmatians Puppies (43271) is perfect for younger fans of the spotty pups.

LEGO 101 Dalmation Puppy figure

The Lego Disney 101 Dalmatians Puppy (43269) is a fun build as it allows you to create any dalmatians pup you like, whether its Patch, Penny, Roly, Pepper, Lucky, Freckles or another! The Chaos Cards team love this customisable aspect, and the fact the set uses more advanced building techniques then some of the other Lego sets. You really feel accomplished when that final brick clicks into place. You can change the puppies pose, change the collar colours and even adjust the dalmatians spot placement. With 1722 pieces, this Lego set really immerses the builder into the world of 101 Dalmatians.

The Lego Disney Lucky and Penny 101 Dalmatians Puppies (43271) is absolutely adorable and features two posable puppies. The set is perfect for fans of the film who want to re-enact their favourite parts of the film after building the pups. In fact, the set even includes a small TV and mini bone to help Lego builders act out the storyline from the film, and then make a cute display for after. At 268 pieces we think the set is perfect for younger Lego fans who like to play with their creation after building it.

A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes

43278 Box2 v29

If it is Disney castles you are after, then Lego even has that covered! For fans of Frozen there is the rather adorable Mini Arendelle Castle and Elsas Ice Palace (43278) With 306 pieces, the micro playset comes with cute mini-doll figures of Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Honeymaren, Olaf, the Nokk, Bruni, baby Sven (so cute!) and a Snowgie, and is just perfect for storytelling. We love that the accessories and figures can be stored in the actual castle which is lockable. This makes the set even more fun and interactive!

43267 boxprod v29 sha

The Lego Disney Princess Castle and Royal Pets (43267) is a bigger scale build for those looking for a more complex project. It is 787 pieces and is aimed at Lego builders aged 6 and over. The castle even has rooms for each princess mini-doll featured. The set comes complete with lots of accessories and functions. The mini-dolls included are Ariel, Rapunzel, Mulan, Jasmine and Moana. Each mini-doll comes with their respective pet; so Flounder, Pascal, Rajah, Pua and for the first time ever in Lego; Mushu. The mini-dolls were first featured in the Lego Disney Storybook adventures and the 2024 advent calendars and we think they are a great addition to the Disney range. The great thing about the Princess castle is that not only is it a great display piece, but it is great for immersing yourself in imaginative play as the castle has fully moving parts, furniture, a cave, a waterfall and even a launching bow for target practice.

Make Waves with Moana and the Kokamora

Moana LEGO set

Finally, for fans of Moana, we are rather excited for the Kokamora Barge (43258) The cute coconuts were very popular in the first Moana film and we were so excited to see them feature in the recent sequel! This Lego set contains 572 pieces and features the big barge, which can be separated into 3 smaller boats. The very detailed set comes with a coconut catapult, hidden treasure chest, playable drum and spinning wheel. Excitingly, the mini-dolls featured in this set include Moana, Maui, Hei Hei, Kotu and 5 adorable but fierce Kokamora.

The Only Limit is your Imagination

The new Disney Lego sets makes use of the new intuitive instructions from Lego, where our master builders can use the Lego Builder App to zoom in and rotate models in 3D, track progress and save sets as they develop building skills. We love this fun element and can't wait to see how it develops over time. Will you be using the traditional paper instructions or trial the builder app?

The Lego Disney collaborations have always provided a great way for builders to fully immerse themselves into the magic of their favourite Disney characters. The sets included in the latest release are great examples of that, from the adorable spots of the dalmatians, to the charm of the Disney princesses; there is sure to be something for all fans of the franchise. So head over to Chaos Cards and get ready to relive your favourite Disney moments in the form of Lego, and enjoy!

Do you have your eye on anything from this release in particular? Why don’t you let us know over on our socials. We love to hear from you!
