Seti – An adventure into Space, and beyond!

SETI, or ‘Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence” is the new game from Czech Games Edition. Beautifully designed by Tomáš Holek, the new strategy game is for between 1 and 4 players and focuses on the search for alien life. The game is inspired by current and emerging technologies within space exploration so is a great buy for any space and science enthusiasts in your life!

“SETI: Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence pays homage to space and planetary exploration, astronomy, the ongoing search for signs of life in the vastness of space, and efforts to understand the nature of life in the universe.”

In the game, you are tasked with leading a Scientific Institution that is on the lookout for Extraterrestrial life. You can look forward to exploring other planets, and testing out technology whilst gathering data and searching for any signs of extraterrestrial life.

It can be fairly slow to start with, especially if it is the first time playing. It is classed as an area-control Eurogame. A Eurogame is a game with a definite theme and has a clear strategy. The rules may seem complicated at first glance, but the rulebook is comprehensive and informative. The player aids are handy too and easy to access while playing. The rules are logical which we always find helpful when mastering a new game. Gameplay lasts around 40 minutes so a great option for a games night in with friends.

Explore the Cosmos

Seti is a strategic game with a thematic narrative. The actual set up is quite expansive, so would need a fairly decent table to play around. Each player has a player board as well as the main, base board featuring a four layer rotating solar system. The game is made up of around 200 unique cards, and 200 tokens. The game is stunning to look at. The artwork is out of this world ;) We like the fact that you can play Seti Solo or with up to four players. It is also a plus that you can utilise different tactics on the path to victory.
