Coffee, Cards, and Community

Nothing could have prepared us for how much fun we would have for our first Pokémon breakfast club we held at Chaos Cards on Monday 6th October. It was so exciting to be able to celebrate the early release of Mega Evolutions with the Pokémon community. As it was a Breakfast Club we started the day as we intended to go on, with fresh coffee, tea and pastries from our wonderful local bakers: Dockers. YUM.

The concept of Pokémon Breakfast Club was originally thought up by Liz Flynn, our lovely General Manager here at Chaos Cards. Liz wanted to create a space that did more then just sell cards, that bought everyone together too:

“It’s always great seeing the Pokémon community playing in store, but we don’t often get to witness the joy of unboxing- that moment of ripping packs, seeing the new artwork, and reacting in real time. Most people take their purchases home, and we miss out on that excitement. With the Breakfast Club, I wanted to create a space where collectors could come together, open the latest set, and share that magic as a community.”

 We had around 30 people attend, and we were so happy to see fans from far and wide; including Swansea, Oxford and Derby, coming along to share in the fun. Seeing the Pokémon community come together for this exclusive and fun event highlighted how nice and friendly everyone is!

The best part of the morning wasn't just the croissants! It was hearing the enthusiastic chatter as everyone ripped open their Mega Evolutions booster packs.

There were some amazing pulls and everyone was happy to share their excitement and show off the amazing artwork featured in this set together. It was great to see the debut of the new ultra-rare item and Pokémon Tool cards being pulled by so many of our attendees. The communal unboxing made the entire experience feel celebratory!

What’s Next for the Pokémon Breakfast Club?!

Given how quickly tickets for this first event sold and how much fun we all had, we can't wait to run Pokémon Breakfast Club again for Phantasmal Flames - watch this space as we'll be adding tickets very soon! 

From the first sip of coffee to the excitement over a rare pull, we think that the first-ever Pokémon Breakfast Club really was a success. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped us celebrate the launch of Mega Evolutions in true Chaos Cards style.
