Wednesday's Child is Made of Lego

Did you see what we did with the title there? The new Lego sets are a huge must have for fans of the Netflix series, Tim Burton and anything to do with the Gothic. If these sound appealing then read on to find out more!
“What Kind of Dystopian Landscape is this?”

The Wednesday themed Lego sets utilise the mini-dolls which mostly appear in the Lego Friends and Disney Lego sets. The Chaos Cards team think this style of mini-dolls fit the aesthetic of Wednesday perfectly. Chaos Cards are stocking two sets, based on the Netflix smash, to be excited about; Wednesday and Enids Dorm Room (76781,) and Wednesday Addams Figure (76780.) As with many other new Lego sets, each Wednesday set comes with a QR code, which, once scanned, leads to the digital instructions so builders can rebuild or change things within the sets!
Welcome to Nevermore!

Wednesday and Enids Dorm Room (76781) comes with 4 mini dolls; 2 of Wednesday and 2 of Enid, there is also the addition of Thing and Wednesday’s Typewriter to make their Dorm room feel as authentic to the series as possible. The Dorm room contains 750 pieces and is the only location based build of the Wednesday set. From the front, the dorm room set resembles Nevermore academy with an instantly recognisable stained glass window. It looks SO good, and suitably Gothic in style.
The Chaos Cards team love that you can recreate Wednesday and Enid’s personal living space, as well as providing a nice space for imaginative play afterwards. This Lego set gives you the chance to pick your side; so you can either look like someone vomited a rainbow on your side of the room, or look like your about to embark on writing your most darkest, macabre horror ever. Enid’s side is covered with all the things we would expect from her bright and sunny personality, including cuddly toys and colourful posters. Wednesdays side is decidedly monochrome with spiderwebs and mahogany coloured furniture. We think it’s great that the set can be utilised as a display piece as well as a Polly Pocket style play set.
“This one just comes with Lego, and a bad song”

The new Wednesday Lego sets shares more than a few similarities with the enchanting new Wicked Lego sets. The biggest similarity lays in the larger buildable maxifigures. The guys here at Chaos Cards are big fans of the look of these figures. The fact they have articulation and is a larger scale figure then is standard in Lego really makes them stand out!
The Lego Wednesday Addams figure (76780) comes with two outfits, her Nevermore uniform and the iconic dress she wears at the Rave’N Ball. The fun, new style of figure is stood on what looks like the gates of Nevermore, and there's lots of fun little references to the show scattered throughout the set. There are some mini builds that fans of the series will recognise, including her typewriter, the families crystal ball and Nero’s headstone (her beloved pet scorpion.) A fun little addition is the clever drawers in the base where you can store Wednesdays alternative face plate or any other spare parts. The Chaos Cards team love how expressive this maxifigure of Wednesday is. The style of figure definitely suits Wednesday’s Gothic appearance!
Turn into a Lego Teenage Goo-Goo Muck.

Are the Wednesday Lego sets any good we hear you ask? Well, of course they are. We particularly like the Lego maxifigures and think they would look awesome on any Tim Burton fans shelf. The dorm room is awesome for displaying and also as a standalone play set. We love the new Lego additions of the QR codes on the sets. These are so handy, especially if, like us, you are always misplacing the instructions! The Sets make great gifts for the festive season, or birthdays. They would even make a nice little treat for yourself! Check out our post on our favourite Macabre Wednesday picks if you are after more Addams Family related fun!
