New Digimon Awaken!

Written by Jonnii Small - May 09 2022

New Digimon Awaken!

New Digimon and mechanics have arrived in the Digimon TCG's latest set, New Awakening! As usual with Digimon sets we have more big digital monsters, epic option cards and beautiful alternate arts! Making their debut in this release is multicoloured Digimon!

Flamedramon is a prime example of this new type of Digimon card, combining Red and Blue! Flamedramon is also able to digivolve from Veemon for a slightly cheaper cost (another new mechanic coming out in this set!) and has the new Armour Purge keyword, allowing you to trash the top card of this Digimon to prevent deletion. Imperialdramon Fighter Mode is a Blue and Green Digimon that allows you to return a Digimon with 10000DP or less to it's owner's hand on digivolution, and gives you additional abilities on attack depending on the cards underneath it! These multicoloured cards seem to be incredibly powerful and allow you to focus your deck further on specific archetype.

The Secret Rares in this set include Creepymon. Creepymon further utilises the trashing concept we've seen from Purple since the beginning of the Digimon TCG, being another powerful card that looks to trash from your opponent's deck and do some big damage! Imperialdramon Paladin Mode is the other Secret, a Level 7 Digimon that is cheaper to get out if you run other White Level 7 Digimon in your deck, and can also clear some of your opponent's board!

There is also a multicoloured Tamer in this set in Davis Motomiya & Ken Ichijoji! This Tamer gives you additional memory at the beginning of your turn and can unsuspend your multicoloured Digimon too! Many of the other Tamers in this set also give you more memory and abilities if your Digimon have more than 1 colour. You can make use of these Tamers with Kimeramon, a Digimon that is treated as having all of the colours of the Digimon underneath it!

There's a lot of multicoloured cards and Digimon to look forward to in this release! If you're excited, head on over and take a look at the booster box for New Awakening!
