Immortal Heroes return in Legendary Duelists: Season 3!

It's another Yu-Gi-Oh! release and we've got the return of powerful cards from the sets Legendary Duelists: Immortal Destiny and Magical Hero! The Legendary Duelists: Season 3 boxes contain 2 18 cards Booster Packs and 1 of 10 Secret Rare variant cards, alongside a special Dice that showcases Dark Magical Circle, Dark Magician Girl, Junk Synchron, Hero Signal and Elemental HERO Neos! The rares in this set are also a little different, coming in the standard Ultra Rare, Blue Text, and Red Text referring to the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Duel Academy colours! But, there are a lot of fantastic things to look forward to in this small set. Not only are there reprints of beautiful cards from the previous Legendary Duelists sets, there are also a few new cards making their debut here, all retrains of older, more nostalgic cards!

1

We begin with my favourite art from this set, Mystical Elf - White Lightning! While it has the same stats as the original Mystical Elf, this one has an ability:

When a monster your opponent controls activates its effect, while you control a Level 5 or higher Normal Monster (Quick Effect): You can Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, negate that effect. During your opponent's Battle Phase (Quick Effect): You can target 1 Normal Monster in either GY; Special Summon it to your field, and if you do, all monsters your opponent controls must attack that monster this turn, if able, while you control it. You can only use each effect of "Mystical Elf - White Lightning" once per turn.

So, you get a negate and special summon, and an additional special summon of a Normal Monster that must be attacked! Pretty neat! Especially in more casual settings. We'll carry on with Harpie's Pet Dragon - Fearsome Fire Blast! A fourth version of this popular card, again with the same stats as it's original incarnation but with a different ability:

Monsters cannot target Level 6 or lower "Harpie" monsters for attacks. You can only use each of the following effects of "Harpie's Pet Dragon - Fearsome Fire Blast" once per turn. If you control a Level 6 or lower WIND monster: You can Special Summon this card from your hand in Defense Position. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can send 1 WIND Winged Beast monster from your Deck to the GY.

Another card ability that allows itself to be special summoned, this one also helps to protect all of your Harpie ladies, which is quite fun! If you're looking to build up your Harpie deck, this card could be a great shout! And the final Secret Rare card we'll be looking at (out of 10 that you could get in each box of Legendary Duelists: Season 3) is Elemental HERO Liquid Soldier! A great Level 4 Elemental HERO who extends your plays immensely:

When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 Level 4 or lower "HERO" monster in your GY, except "Elemental HERO Liquid Soldier"; Special Summon it. If this card is used as Fusion Material for a "HERO" monster, and sent to the GY or banished: You can draw 2 cards, then discard 1 card. You can only use 1 "Elemental HERO Liquid Soldier" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Special summoning a HERO from your GY is always decent, plus the effect to draw two cards upon a Fusion Summon of using this card, this is a must in HERO decks currently and it's great to see a reprint here! With its only previous printing being in Legendary Duelists: Magical Hero, it's great to see it as a Secret Rare variant!

We continue on this look through the fun cards in this set with Evil HERO Adusted Gold, another great reprint for the HERO archetype with a pretty simple but great effect:

You can discard this card; add 1 "Dark Fusion", or 1 card that specifically lists "Dark Fusion" in its text, from your Deck to your hand, except "Evil HERO Adusted Gold". You can only use this effect of "Evil HERO Adusted Gold" once per turn. Cannot attack unless you control a Fusion Monster.

This is a spectacular searcher for the archetype, and doesn't even take a summon, which is great! If you're on the lookout for any other Evil HERO bits, this is the set for you, filled to the brim with dark-sided Yu-Gi-Oh! HERO! Speaking of dark-sided, Predaplants get a lot of love with this release too! A standout being the special summoning and in-archetype searching card, Predapractice:

Special Summon 1 "Predaplant" monster from your hand, then add 1 "Predap" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Predapractice", also for the rest of this turn after this card resolves, you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Fusion Monsters. You can only activate 1 "Predapractice" per turn.

A great spell there, but the ultimate spellcaster, Dark Magician, gets a lot of great reprinted support in this set too! From Dark Magical Circle (an amazing spell card for the archetype), Apprentice Illusion Magician (a brilliant monster that searches your Dark Magician and can be special summoned pretty easily from your hand), and, most importantly, Magicians' Souls:

You can send up to 2 Spells/Traps from your hand and/or field to the GY; draw that many cards. If this card is in your hand: You can send 1 Level 6 or higher Spellcaster monster from your Deck to the GY, then activate 1 of these effects;
● Special Summon this card.
● Send this card to the GY, then, you can Special Summon 1 "Dark Magician" or 1 "Dark Magician Girl" from your GY.
You can only use each effect of "Magicians' Souls" once per turn.

This versatile card helps you get your Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl to the field, and can get you some nice draw power too! So, if you're looking to pick up some nostalgic cards from Yu-Gi-Oh!, GX, and even some 5Ds, this could be the special set for you! Pre-order yours over on the product pages for the Sealed Pack and the Sealed Booster Display and start collecting from release!
