Hop into Easter with Egg-cellent Easter Games for all the Family!

Easter is an egg-cellent time to gather with friend and family and mark the beginning of Spring. The lighter and brighter evenings are perfect for gathering around the tabletop and playing a fun game or two.

Luckily the Chaos Cards team have rounded up some of our most popular Easter related games to play.

Read on to discover which ones belong in your Easter basket this Bank Holiday weekend.

Discover the Secrets of Easter Island

Did you know that Easter Island was discovered on Easter Sunday in 1722? That explains the reason behind the name then!

The Moai statues on Easter Island are world famous with many a documentary about them, and they just so happen to take centre stage in the game Sneaky Statues of Easter Island. This is fantastic game of wits with a simple goal – aim to outwit your opponent! Be the first to line up four statues, but beware the other players who are guessing where you will be heading next! Sneaky Statues of Easter Island is fast paced and strategic making it a great board game to play this Easter.

Grabbit is the Perfect Game for Little Bunnies

Grabbit is a must have for younger games this Easter season, with its adorable rabbit theme and colourful components. It is bound to be an instant hit with children aged 4 and up (as well as any big kids in the household!)

In Grabbit, players compete to gather four different vegetables from the garden. The first to do this wins! Although Grabbit is a fun and colourful game to look at and play, it is one of those games that is a little bit educational as well! It can help develop important cognitive skills such a concentration, memory and strategic planning.

Spread Your Wings with Wingspan

Wingspan has always been a firm favourite amongst the Chaos Cards team and it’s a beautiful choice for the Spring season. The game is aimed at a slightly older player then Grabbit, so would be perfect for a games night with friends or families with older children.

Wingspan is great for any nature lovers or bird watchers in your life. As a major part of the game involves collecting and laying eggs we think that Wingspan is the perfect choice to play this Easter. We recently checked out the new expansion Wingspan Americas on our blog and think that would be a great Easter option for the more seasoned Wingspan player!

Gather the Family for Catan

If you are looking for a game that would be perfect for a lazy Easter Sunday afternoon then look no further then the board game classic Catan. At its core, Catan is a high-stakes game of resource management and forward planning where players aim to cement thier place as the island's number one settler. Although made for between 3 and 4 players there are Extension packs available to increase the number of players, as well as some amazingly fun expansions!

To suceed in Catan, you’ll need to outmanoeuvre rivals by building roads, settlements, and grand cities. The magic of the game lies in the interaction between players. Catan really is a game of bluffing as much as building. One minute you’re shaking hands on a fair trade, and the next, your friends are strategically blocking your longest road or sending the Robber to plunder your hard-earned wealth. Beware, your greatest ally can become your biggest obstacle with a single roll of the dice.

Don’t get 'Board' this Easter!

Board games could be the next best tradition for a family Easter celebration this year, plus they last a lot longer then the average chocolate egg! From strategic statues to vegetable munching rabbits we are sure to have something for every tabletop gamer this Spring over on the Chaos Cards website.
