Harmonise with Nature in Harmonies
Written by K. Lambert - Jul 17 2026

Harmonies is a game that is incredibly popular among nature lovers. Players must create a vibrant landscape to welcome wildlife, in a peaceful space where they can build and explore. It is the perfect game for families, casual gamers, and die-hard board-gamers who enjoy thoughtful, puzzle-like mechanics as well as gorgeous, nature-themed designs.
At its heart, Harmonies is a tile-laying game that is perfect for fans of puzzles. The premise is built around clever habitat-building mechanics that feel more rewarding every time you play.

The Chaos Cards team thinks Harmonies is a captivating game with some really innovative features, with a wildlife element of the game really shines. The tactile tile placement is a great addition to the gameplay, and the beautifully designed tiles only add to that premium, high-quality feel. As the game develops, you can grow your ecosystem upwards as well as outwards, and watch your landscape come to life. Bear in mind that every choice you make impacts your ecosystem. This pattern-development aspect offers a deeply satisfying gaming experience.
The base game of Harmonies includes both a Solo mode and an Expert mode. The wide variety of animals included ensures that no two games ever feel the same, making for fantastic replayability; which always gets a thumbs up from us.
We love that the game is quick and easy to set up, and the straightforward rules make it a perfect choice for families with young children. Despite its accessibility however, the mechanical depth ensures it appeals to all ages and experience levels.
If you are looking to enhance your game, look no further than Harmonies: Pulse, the exciting mini-expansion that seamlessly enhances the base game. Simply shuffle the expansion cards into the existing deck and you’re ready to go!
Harmonies: Pulse brings brand-new tactical challenges that allow players to develop their landscapes in fresh, interesting ways, whilst uncovering exciting new scoring opportunities. The expansion introduces ten new animal cards featuring three colours that open up a world of unique options that will enhance your gameplay. In fact, players can now mirror a pattern's orientation, adding a whole new layer of strategy to the game! This ability offers much higher scoring potential, along with more challenging play.
Fans of the game should keep an eye out for another expansion due out later this year, called Harmonies: Crescendo. This upcoming expansion will feature:
Animal sanctuaries,
the ability to accommodate multiple animals on a single space,
new game-boards with unique field layouts,
mysterious new "Whisper Creatures" that we can’t wait to learn more about!
Harmonies and Harmonies: Pulse really are fantastic choices for a fun games night. They accommodate between 1 to 4 players, support solo play, and can also be completed in 30 to 45 minutes. They also have a lot in common with other popular nature games such as Cascadia and Forest Shuffle (be sure to check out our post on the latest Forest Shuffle installment over on our News and Events page!).
The Chaos Cards team has really enjoyed playing Harmonies and exploring the upcoming Pulse expansion. Have you had a chance to experiment with your own ecosystems yet? Let us know your favourite setups over on our socials!
