Celebrate Valentines Day with Squishmallows

Valentines Day, is also known as the Feast of Saint Valentine, and is celebrated every year on the 14th February. It is a great chance to spend time with the one you love, or even share the day with your pals (Palentines Day anyone?) Valentine Day is the perfect way to to show your affection for the people who matter to you most.

While it’s origins stretch back as far as an ancient Roman festival known as Lupercalia, Valentines celebrations as we know it became a more commercial affair around the mid 19th century. We can credit the Victorians with making the occasion a more celebratory affair with gifts such as the first heart shaped box of chocolates, and bouquets of flowers. The first ornate and lace trimmed Valentines day card appeared around the early 1910s. The spirit of gift giving is a tradition that has evolved over time.
