Check Out the Wilds Unknown Pre-Release Kit with Chaos Cards

The Inklands are getting wilder than ever before. New Disney and Pixar glimmers are appearing to help our Illumineers navigate this untamed terrain. The horizons of Lorcana are expanding further than we ever could have imagined. Whether you are a seasoned Illumineer or a fresh faced traveller, the time has come to pack your bags and prepare for the journey ahead. Welcome to the Wilds Unknown!

Excitingly, this new release marks a huge milestone. For the first time in Lorcana history, competitive players will be treated to an exciting Pre-Release Set. The Chaos Cards team were lucky enough to be treated to an EXCLUSIVE preview of the upcoming Wilds Unknown Pre-Release Kit from the team at Ravensburger. Read on to find out what we thought of this exciting new addition to Lorcana’s releases.

Wilds Unknown is arriving soon and as you can imagine, the Chaos Cards team are pretty excited! If you are eager to get your hands on the new set, the official pre-release starts on Friday 8th May with the official retail release following on May 15th. Pre release events will continue to be run in the Sealed or Pack Rush format. 

These all new Pre-Release kits are carefully curated to provide a solid foundation for competitive play (and even a few rounds of Pack Rush.) It is a fun way to test out any new strategies, whilst engaging with the local Lorcana community. Don’t forget to keep a close eye on the Chaos Cards socials and events page to stay updated on all the upcoming Lorcana tournaments and events!

Are you curious as to what you’ll find inside these new kits? The Wilds Unknown Pre-Release kits include everything you need to get started. The Chaos Cards team got to have a preview at what is included and we can absolutely confirm that the Pre-Release kit creates an EPIC out of the box experience for all Lorcana players.

• 6 Booster Packs: The Booster packs will be the main part of the pre-release experience. Each pack includes: 6 Common cards, 3 Uncommon cards, 2 Rare (or higher) cards, 1 Foil card of random rarity
• Exclusive Promo Cards: You’ll receive 1 of 6 random "traveller" promos, featuring iconic characters like Woody, Ariel, Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Cinderella, or Pocahontas. We were lucky enough to get the Queen of Hearts – Impatient Traveller in our Pre-Release kit. The Dreamborn Queen looks stunning with the ‘Wilds Unknown’ promo gold stamp and an intricate, golden border.
• Rules Sheet: A handy addition to help you keep up to date with the latest mechanics and rule updates.
• Collector’s Postcard: Each kit includes a special postcard detailing the dangers in Wilds Unknown; from the Wilderknow, to the Torchlight Peaks, and The Great Empty Sea. We pulled the Great Empty Sea card, and the artwork perfectly channels the vintage feel of early 20th-century American travel posters, and we really are here for this vibe!

As danger continues to overshadow the realm of Lorcana, it’s up to players to prune these threats before the vines completely take over.

The "Vine arc" that first emerged during the Whispers in the Well release is reaching boiling point. We watched Elsa attempt to freeze the growth in Winterspell, but now in the Wilds Unknown release, the vine is spreading into uncharted territory.

Will the trusty Illumineers be able to stop the "Organic Panic" that is invading their homeland? There are hints of some of the more scary Disney moments in upcoming releases. But it looks like we will have to wait until Attack of the Vine is released to find out more! The potential inclusion of some beloved Pixar monsters will be sure to shake up the game. We will have to wait until July to find out more.

The Wilds Unknown Pre-Release kit is just the beginning of the Illumineers quest through wild and untamed lands. We’ve really had a fantastic time exploring the Pre-Release kit, and we can’t wait for them to officially release on May 8th so we can share the excitement.
