Amazing. Somehow an entire epic quest story has been squeezed into a simple set of cards. The map is made of randomly dealt cards, so each game is different from the start. There's a good range of freely interchangeable characters, classes and story paths. The falling gloom mechanic causes genuine tension. Your story will lead you to locations that may have already fallen, inflicting damage and other penalties if you remain there at night. The game is playable solo, but is best tackled as a team as character choice matters, and you can find some of the challenges next to impossible with the wrong set-up. The only downside to this game is the additional cost. The artwork is phenomenal and the cards are really high quality. You will want to sleeve the entire game before play, and that's not cheap with the amount of cards involved. Many of the cards are double sided, so make sure to buy clear sleeves.

If you liked Gloom of Kilforth then this is for you. Less of a traditional fantasy than Gloom, this seems to be dipping into Eastern myth and legend to add variation.
