A fast-paced card game with BITE!

Greetings and welcome to the world of Diamonsters! From the designer and artist of the best-selling Machi-Koro card game, comes Diamonsters! In the card game Diamonsters, each player starts the game with an identical hand of cards, each of which has a cartoonish picture of a monster and a value from one to five. Each round one card is dealt from the deck face up. Some monsters are more valuable than others, and some eat the diamonds found on other cards.

Players attempt to win the round by playing the highest card in front of them, but cards of equal value cancel out. The winner of each round adds his winning card — plus the face-up card — to his collection of cards won. The first player to collect three cards of the same value or five diamonds wins the game.

Value for Money

I really wanted to like this. I enjoy Machi Koro and like the look of this. The first disappointment was the size of the box, which only contains a deck of some plastic diamonds, a box the third the size would have still been to big.
The game play borrows heavily from Get Bit, and adds set collection. But it just doesn't really work and falls flat. A vital rule was left out of the instruction manual which I only found out from the designer on BoardGameGeek. The only real advantage this has over get bit is it works better with smaller numbers otherwise get Get Bit instead.
